When the contents are emptied from the hollow of a polystyrene package, so is perceived usefulness and meaning. Repeated attempts to reconstitute the form and function of packaging are to no avail. Rather than providing a renewed clarity, it further confounds, ultimately exposing the folly of the exercise and destabilizing the system from which it arises.
